Facing Kape in main event
Royval will take on Manel Kape in a flyweight bout at UFC Vegas 112 on Dec. 13, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Royval will look to avenge a loss his last time in the Octagon, when the flyweight fell to Joshua Van via unanimous decision in June. That dropped his UFC record to 7-4, and he'll look for win number eight in a main event and the last UFC fight of 2025. His opponent Kape, meanwhile, has won two straight and will be looking to climb to 7-3 in the promotion.

Drops war to Joshua Van
Royval lost to Joshua Van via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 27-30) at UFC 317 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
You can't help but feel for Royval here. Originally scheduled to face Manel Kape this evening, he agreed to this opponent change less than three weeks ago despite the fact he had little to gain from a rankings standpoint. Hopefully some of those hard feelings are negated by the $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus that is surely coming his way (later confirmed by UFC President Dana White). Royval fought Van blow-for-blow in what was a 15-minute kickboxing match. Brandon remained hyper aggressive in trying to drown Van with volume, while the latter landed the more damaging blows. Royval was ultimately knocked down with just seconds left, eliminating any chance he had of taking a decision. The flyweight division is thin enough that the 32-year-old Colorado native can work his way back to the top in short order, but this is a clear setback for Royval.

Gets new opponent for UFC 317
Royval is no longer scheduled to face Manel Kape (foot) and will instead take on Joshua Van in a flyweight fight at UFC 317 in Las Vegas on June 28, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Van was added to the card as a replacement for Kape, who fractured his right foot during a recent training session. A 23-year-old from Myanmar, Van will head into UFC 317 with some momentum, having claimed wins in his last four fights, including a decisive victory over Bruno Silva last weekend at UFC 316 in New Jersey. Royval, meanwhile, is riding a two-fight winning streak that improved his career record to 17-7.

Out for UFC Vegas 103
Royval is out for UFC Vegas 103, according to Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
ANALYSIS
Royval being out for UFC Vegas 103 means the event's headliner, which was supposed to be Royval against Manel Kape, is no longer a possibility. Kape will need a new opponent, and Royval will have to put his 2025 title aspirations on hold for at least a little bit.

Next fight booked
Royval will face off against Manel Kape at UFC Vegas 103 on Mar. 1, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
